Welcoming Spring Persian Style

arishaashraf

As spring emerges, millions around the world prepare to celebrate Nowruz, the Persian New Year—a time of renewal, reflection, and joy. Rooted in over 3,000 years of tradition, Nowruz marks the vernal equinox, symbolizing a fresh start with family gatherings, festive meals, and the iconic Haft-Seen table (see image below), adorned with symbols of prosperity, health, and rebirth. Whether you're deeply familiar with the holiday or simply curious to learn more, there's something special about coming together to honor the changing season.

Nowruz is generally observed on March 20th or 21st, so we are planning to share a meal together a few days before. And here in Orange County, we’re lucky to have so many incredible Persian restaurants. Would you be interested in celebrating Nowruz as a community? Please email us at BrownClubOC@gmail.com with your thoughts!
