If you have ben around Brown football as long as I have, you cannot help but be thrilled that the Bears have gone 20% of this season without a defeat!
The 10-game Ivy League season began on Saturday, Sept. 21, with Brown visiting the Georgetown Hoyas, and coming away with a 26-14 win.
Then, a week later, Brown hosted the Harvard Crimson, who had beaten Brown in 12 consecutive meetings. The string is broken! Brown 31 - Harvard 28! Brown goes 2-0 overall, 1-0 in the conference.
The win over Harvard required some awesome last-minute heroics to seal a close game. Here's a link to the Providence Journal article and some interview footage -
Brown's coach and former quarterback James Perry took the Bears to a .500 season last year, and he and the team may have greater things ahead on 2024.
Friday, October 18, 2024, 4 PM PT, you can watch Brown at Princeton nationwide on ESPN-U. Go to your favorite sports bar, and ask them to put it on! In the past, Princeton has clobbered Brown, but this year - if we can beat Harvard - who knows?
